Religious Affairs Ministry Establishes Scientific Research Committee

Algiers – The Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youcef Belmahdi, officially inaugurated the permanent sectorial committee for scientific research and technological development at the ministry headquarters on Tuesday.

In his opening address, Minister Belmahdi emphasized that the committee comprises scientific experts representing the ministry’s central administration and affiliated institutions. These include the National Office for Endowments and Zakat, the Islamic Cultural Center, and the National Institute for Specialized Training for personnel within the Religious Affairs and Endowments administration.

The committee also includes experts from the High Islamic Council, the Grand Mosque of Algiers, and university deans from various regions of the country. This diverse representation ensures comprehensive expertise and integrated experience to achieve the committee’s objectives.

Minister Belmahdi stressed the paramount importance of this committee in coordinating and supporting scientific research and technological development activities related to the religious affairs and endowments sector. He affirmed its pivotal role in developing and implementing scientific research policies within the ministry, in accordance with the provisions of the national guidance law.

The committee will focus on promoting research and developing technological tools and applications that enhance the ministry’s functions, including the roles of mosques, Quranic education, and endowment properties. Furthermore, it will propose research and executive programs in relevant religious and scientific fields, contributing to enhanced performance and sustainable development within the sector.

This initiative underscores the ministry’s commitment to integrating scientific advancements into its operations and promoting innovation within the religious sphere.
