Luanda – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks with his Portuguese counterpart, Paulo Rangel, earlier today. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 7th European Union – African Union Summit, held in Luanda on November 24th and 25th, 2025.
Discussions centered on the importance of bolstering the positive momentum currently characterizing bilateral relations, particularly in anticipation of upcoming engagements between the two nations. Both ministers emphasized a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation across various sectors.
The ministers also explored avenues for enhancing the Africa-Europe partnership, taking into consideration the outcomes of the Luanda summit. Key areas of focus included trade, investment, and sustainable development initiatives. Both parties expressed optimism about the future of the partnership and its potential to address shared challenges.
Minister Attaf reiterated Algeria’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with Portugal and to playing a constructive role in the broader Africa-Europe dialogue. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting peace, security, and prosperity across the African continent.
