Cairo, November 26, 2025 – The Algerian-Egyptian Economic Forum officially opened today in Cairo, marking a significant step towards enhanced economic cooperation between the two nations. The forum was inaugurated by Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib, alongside his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly.
During the opening session, Prime Minister Ghrib delivered a keynote address highlighting the importance of fostering strong bilateral partnerships across various economic and investment sectors. He emphasized that such collaborations are crucial for promoting sustainable development, supporting shared interests, and unlocking new avenues for joint cooperation.
Prime Minister Ghrib stated that the forum “genuinely and earnestly embodies the shared political will, repeatedly affirmed by the leaders of our countries, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his brother, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to build a strategic bilateral partnership primarily aimed at attracting investments, boosting trade, and encouraging fruitful cooperation between Algerian and Egyptian institutions.”
The Prime Minister lauded the progress achieved in economic cooperation between Algeria and Egypt, noting the encouraging upward trend in bilateral trade figures. “During the first eight months of 2025, trade reached approximately $870 million USD, a significant increase from $622 million USD during the same period last year,” he highlighted.
Sifi Ghrib urged Egyptian business leaders to seize these promising opportunities and encouraged them to invest in Algeria, describing it as their second home. He assured them of a warm welcome and the necessary support throughout all stages of their projects. He also informed them that representatives from the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency were present at the forum and available to assist them.
The Algerian-Egyptian Economic Forum is expected to generate new initiatives and partnerships that will further strengthen the economic bonds between the two countries.
