Heavy Snow and Rain Predicted for Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, November 26, 2025 – Several provinces across Algeria are bracing for heavy rainfall and snowfall, accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures, according to the National Meteorological Office.

A weather alert issued today, Wednesday, warns of thunderstorms and heavy rain in the provinces of Tiaret, Annaba, Skikda, Souk Ahras, Guelma, Constantine, Bejaia, Setif, Tizi Ouzou, Jijel, Mila, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bouira, Boumerdes, Algiers, Blida, Medea, and Tipaza. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.

Furthermore, rainfall is expected in the provinces of Ain Defla, Chlef, Relizane, Mostaganem, Tissemsilt, Djelfa, Tiaret, Mascara, Oran, and Ain Temouchent. Motorists are urged to exercise caution on the roads due to potentially hazardous driving conditions.

In a separate advisory, the meteorological services have cautioned about heavy snowfall in the highlands of Jijel, Mila, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Medea, Blida, Ain Defla, Tissemsilt, Guelma, Constantine, and M’Sila. Travel to these mountainous regions is strongly discouraged unless absolutely necessary.

Authorities are urging residents in the affected areas to stay informed about the latest weather updates and to follow safety guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries. The National Meteorological Office will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as needed.
