Algiers – The Algerian People’s National Army (ANP) has released its operational report for the period of November 19th to 25th, 2025, highlighting successful counter-terrorism efforts, drug interdictions, and migrant rescues across the country.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of National Defense, ANP units demonstrated a high level of readiness and vigilance in addressing various security threats throughout the national territory.
Counter-Terrorism Operations
In the fight against terrorism, army detachments successfully apprehended seven individuals providing support to terrorist groups. These arrests occurred during separate operations in several provinces, reflecting ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and disrupt their logistical support.
Drug Trafficking Interdictions
Along Algeria’s western borders, significant operations were conducted to combat organized crime. Authorities successfully thwarted attempts to smuggle 966 kilograms of processed cannabis from Morocco. Furthermore, 61 drug traffickers were arrested, and 1.35 kilograms of cocaine and 564,966 psychotropic tablets destined for distribution within Algeria were seized.
Migrant Rescues and Apprehensions
The ANP continued its operations to combat illegal migration, rescuing 79 individuals aboard makeshift vessels attempting to cross to Europe. Additionally, 202 undocumented migrants of various nationalities were apprehended in separate operations across multiple provinces.
The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that these results underscore the Algerian People’s National Army’s commitment to protecting the country’s borders, combating all forms of organized crime, countering illegal migration networks, and ensuring the security and safety of Algerian citizens and the national territory.
