Algiers, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has reiterated Algeria’s unwavering support and solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle to achieve their inalienable rights, including self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
In a message delivered on his behalf by the Minister of Mujahideen and Veterans, Abdelmalek Tacherift, on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Tebboune affirmed Algeria’s “absolute” support for the Palestinian cause.
The President condemned the ongoing Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people, highlighting the systematic destruction of infrastructure in Gaza, the targeting of the healthcare system, and the imposition of a blockade leading to starvation and displacement. He stated that these actions, aimed at making life impossible in Gaza and the West Bank, will not succeed in eliminating the Palestinian state.
President Tebboune emphasized that despite the immense sacrifices, the Palestinian people will remain steadfast on their land, carrying the banner of struggle, freedom, and dignity. He noted the growing global movement and recognition of the Palestinian state, reflecting a rising awareness of the just Palestinian cause.
“Algeria renews its absolute support and unwavering solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people until they regain all their inalienable rights, foremost among which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign state on the 1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital,” the message stated.
Algeria also urged the international community to exert every effort to enforce compliance with international law, immediately lift the blockade on Gaza completely, and open all crossings to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
Furthermore, Algeria reaffirmed that enabling the State of Palestine to obtain full membership in the United Nations is a fundamental step towards enshrining the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their state. Algeria remains committed to supporting its brothers and sisters in occupied Palestine and will spare no effort in defending their legitimate rights.
