Egyptian Industry Minister to Lead Trade Delegation to Algeria

The Egyptian Minister of Industry, Kamel al-Wazir, also serving as Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport, has announced plans to visit Algeria at the head of a delegation of leading Egyptian companies. The visit aims to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation between Egypt and Algeria in the industrial and transport sectors.

The announcement followed the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian High Joint Committee, co-chaired by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib, held in Egypt’s new administrative capital.

Focus on Industry and Transport Collaboration

Minister al-Wazir stated his intention to hold meetings with Algerian counterparts to present opportunities for collaboration in the industry and transport sectors. He noted a strong interest from the Algerian side in strengthening partnerships between the two nations.

Discussions are expected to cover potential cooperation in textiles, the manufacturing of petrochemical raw materials, and the automotive industry. These sectors represent key areas for potential growth and mutual benefit.

Expanding Partnerships Across Sectors

Dr. Rania al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, highlighted the agreement reached by experts from both countries to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors. These include industry, transport, renewable energy, culture, and tourism.

Al-Mashat emphasized the importance of regular follow-up by technical teams to ensure the effective implementation of signed agreements. She also noted the upcoming business forum as an opportunity for the private sectors of both countries to forge new partnerships.

Joint Educational Opportunities

Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, pointed to significant prospects for collaboration with Algeria in technical education. He outlined Egypt’s ongoing efforts to develop curricula and prioritize programming within its educational system.
