Israeli Forces Reinforce Presence in Tubas, Conduct Raids in Qalqilya and Tulkarm

Tubas, West Bank – Israeli forces deployed reinforcements to the town of Tamun, south of Tubas in the northern West Bank, early Thursday morning. Simultaneously, military operations involving raids and arrests were carried out in Qalqilya and Tulkarm.

Reports indicate that Israeli forces are continuing incursions into the town of Aqaba, north of Tubas, conducting extensive searches and arrests. This follows an announcement hours earlier by the Israeli military regarding the killing of three Palestinians and the injury of ten others during a military operation initiated in the Tubas governorate on Wednesday.

According to local sources, dozens of families were forced to evacuate their homes, and approximately sixty Palestinians were detained by the Israeli army. A curfew and blockade have been imposed on the city of Tubas, the Al-Far’a camp, and the villages of Aqaba, Tamun, and Tayasir, as well as several areas in the northern Jordan Valley. Numerous homes have been raided, with some reportedly transformed into temporary military outposts.

Nidal Odeh, Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent in Tubas, stated that Israeli forces obstructed ambulance access to Tamun by establishing a military checkpoint at the town entrance, subjecting medical personnel and patients to searches.

The Israeli military announced that the operation, conducted in collaboration with the Shin Bet internal security service and border guards, involved fighter jets, helicopters, and drones. The military cited intelligence regarding suspected activities linked to Palestinian armed groups and the construction of infrastructure allegedly intended to target Israeli forces.

The Israeli military claims that its air force conducted preemptive strikes to isolate the area of operation, while ground forces searched buildings and interrogated Palestinian suspects. They further stated that a surveillance center and funds linked to illegal activities were seized during the operations, asserting that the operation is a continuation of previous security measures.
