Cairo, November 26, 2025 – The ninth session of the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Committee concluded today in Cairo with the signing of a series of agreements, memoranda of understanding, and executive programs, marking a significant step forward in bilateral relations. The signing ceremony was attended by Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Gherib and Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
The agreements cover a broad spectrum of cooperation, reflecting a shared commitment to deepen the partnership between the two nations and bolster economic, cultural, and scientific collaboration.
Among the key agreements signed were a memorandum of understanding between the Algerian Accreditation Body and the Egyptian National Accreditation Council, as well as another focusing on housing, urban development, and city planning. These initiatives aim to foster knowledge exchange and best practices in crucial sectors.
Furthermore, a cooperation agreement was inked between the National Higher School of Agronomic Engineering in Algeria and the Egyptian Agricultural Research Center, alongside an agreement between Ahmed Draia University in Adrar and Al-Azhar University. These collaborations are expected to enhance research and academic exchange.
In the institutional sphere, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Algerian Ministry of Relations with Parliament and its Egyptian counterpart responsible for parliamentary, legal, and political communication affairs. This agreement aims to strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue and cooperation.
The ceremony also included the signing of an executive program for cooperation between the Ministries of Youth of both countries for the years 2026-2027, as well as a similar program in the field of sports for the same period. These programs will facilitate youth exchange and sporting events between Algeria and Egypt.
Cultural cooperation was also highlighted, with the signing of an executive program for cooperation in the field of culture between the Ministries of Culture for the years 2025-2028. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Algiers Opera and the Egyptian National Cultural Center (Cairo Opera House), promoting artistic exchange and collaboration.
The two sides also strengthened their cooperation in the field of archives through a memorandum of understanding between the Directorate General of the National Archives and the Egyptian General Authority for Books and National Documents. Additionally, an agreement in the field of local development was signed between the Algerian Ministry of Interior and Local Communities and the Egyptian Ministry of Local Development, along with a memorandum concerning cooperation in international exhibitions and markets between the Algerian Company of Exhibitions and Exports and the Egyptian General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences.
