M’SILA, Algeria – A significant drug smuggling operation was thwarted in M’Sila province thanks to the collaborative efforts of Algerian Customs and the People’s National Army.
The joint operation resulted in the seizure of a staggering 43,800 hallucinogenic tablets. The pills, identified as Pregabalin 300mg of foreign origin, were discovered concealed within two bags in the trunk of a passenger vehicle.
According to a statement released by the General Directorate of Customs, the successful intervention led to the confiscation of the illicit drugs and the two vehicles used in the attempted smuggling operation.
Furthermore, authorities apprehended five individuals suspected of involvement in the drug trafficking scheme. These individuals have been turned over to the appropriate judicial bodies for processing and legal action.
