Algiers, October 30, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune is deeply committed to fostering a culture of efficiency and effectiveness within Algeria’s public administration, according to Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation, Said Saayoud.
Minister Saayoud emphasized the President’s dedication to closely monitoring local affairs and ensuring resources are managed with optimal results. He made these remarks during the installation ceremony of Ali Moulay as the new Wali (Governor) of Béni Abbès.
The Minister highlighted the ongoing efforts to revitalize development initiatives to better serve Algerian citizens. He noted that Béni Abbès, recently elevated to a fully empowered province by President Tebboune, possesses significant potential for growth.
Saayoud stated that Béni Abbès has experienced considerable progress in its development and administrative capacity, evidenced by the completion of numerous projects across vital sectors, including infrastructure, housing, education, healthcare, agriculture, and energy.
“The state is determined to continue its efforts to improve the living conditions of citizens and establish a balance between regions and equitable development,” Saayoud affirmed. He added that this vision aims to solidify Béni Abbès as a promising economic and tourist hub in the southwestern region of Algeria.
This strategy, according to the Minister, involves a new approach focused on consistent fieldwork and responsiveness to citizens’ concerns. The Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation is paying close attention to Béni Abbès, recognizing its status as one of the new provinces undergoing a crucial phase of establishing its administrative and organizational structures. Support is being provided through the allocation of necessary technical, human, and financial resources to ensure the province can effectively and efficiently exercise its powers.
