Algeria, Namibia Strengthen Ties Ahead of Key African Summits

Algiers, Algeria – Algeria is bolstering its relationship with Namibia as the nation prepares to host two significant international conferences focused on African peace, security, and justice. Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, met with Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, in Algiers on Saturday.

The meeting comes ahead of Algeria’s hosting of the International Conference on Colonial Crimes in Africa, scheduled for November 30th, and the 12th session of the “Oran Process” on Peace and Security in Africa, set for December 1st, 2025.

The discussions provided a valuable opportunity to assess the current state of bilateral relations between Algeria and Namibia. Both ministers emphasized their commitment to elevating joint cooperation across various sectors to new heights. Areas of mutual interest include trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

Furthermore, the two sides exchanged views on pressing African issues related to peace and security. A key point of emphasis was the importance of unifying the African approach within international forums, particularly at the United Nations Security Council. Both nations recognize that a united African voice is crucial for promoting stability on the continent and effectively addressing current challenges.

This strengthened partnership between Algeria and Namibia underscores a shared commitment to advancing African interests on the global stage and working collaboratively towards a more peaceful and prosperous future for the continent.
