Algiers, Algeria – Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf received Angolan Minister of External Relations, António Tete, in Algiers on Saturday. The meeting precedes Algeria’s hosting of the International Conference on Colonial Crimes in Africa, scheduled for November 30th, and the 12th session of the ‘Oran Process’ on Peace and Security in Africa, slated for December 1st.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the two ministers reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed preparations for future cooperation initiatives. They also exchanged perspectives and analyses on matters of peace and security across the African continent.
Discussions were held within the framework of Algeria’s non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council and Angola’s current presidency of the African Union. The meeting provided an opportunity to align strategies and address shared challenges facing the continent.
The International Conference on Colonial Crimes in Africa aims to address the lasting impact of colonialism and explore avenues for justice and reconciliation. The ‘Oran Process’ focuses on fostering dialogue and cooperation to promote peace and security in the region.
Algeria continues to play a leading role in promoting African unity and addressing critical issues facing the continent. The upcoming conferences underscore Algeria’s commitment to fostering peace, security, and development across Africa.
