Algeria and China Explore Enhanced Security Partnership

Algeria and China are exploring avenues to strengthen their security partnership and enhance the exchange of expertise in the security domain. This comes after discussions between the Director-General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, and the Director-General of the Security Cooperation Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Lixin, during her working visit to Algeria.

The meeting, which was also attended by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Dong Guangli, focused on ways to boost bilateral cooperation and develop the exchange of experiences between the police forces of both nations.

According to the General Directorate of National Security, the talks centered on supporting coordination mechanisms across various policing domains. This includes the exchange of professional expertise and the expansion of partnership areas to bolster the effectiveness of joint security operations.

Key areas of discussion included counter-terrorism strategies, cybersecurity, and combating transnational crime. Both sides expressed a commitment to deepening collaboration in these critical areas to address shared security challenges.

The meeting also served as an opportunity to review the prospects for future police relations between the two sides, contributing to the expansion of cooperation frameworks and security integration. Algeria and China emphasized the importance of a strong and collaborative security relationship in maintaining regional stability and combating global threats.

The discussions highlighted the mutual desire to foster a more robust and effective security partnership, reflecting the growing strategic importance of the relationship between Algeria and China.
