Hajj 2026: Registration Deadline Approaching

Algiers, October 31, 2025 – The Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and National Planning has announced that the deadline for registration in the Hajj lottery for the 1447 AH/2026 season is Thursday, November 6th.

In a statement released today, the Ministry clarified that eligible citizens can register at their local municipality or through the Ministry’s website.

To be eligible for the lottery, applicants must be of Algerian nationality and at least 19 years old on the date of registration. The Ministry emphasized that individuals are permitted to register in only one municipality. Furthermore, those who have performed Hajj in the last seven years, starting from 2019, are ineligible, with the exception of a male guardian (Mahram) accompanying a woman who has not performed Hajj in the previous seven years.

The statement also reiterated the requirement for a male guardian for women under the age of 45. Women over 45 may register with a Mahram or independently.

The Ministry urged all applicants to carefully complete the registration form. For joint registrations (couples or groups of three), all individuals must register at the municipality where the Mahram resides, using either the online or in-person registration method.

The Ministry warned that duplicate registrations – both online and at the municipality level – will result in the online registration being cancelled, with only the municipal registration remaining valid.

Finally, the statement stipulated that applicants registering at the municipal level without a biometric passport must commit to obtaining one within 30 days of winning the lottery, under penalty of being removed from the winners’ list.
