Algerian Foreign Minister Meets Rwandan Counterpart in Algiers

Algiers, Algeria – Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received Olivier Jean Patrick, the Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, earlier today. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the international conference organized by Algeria on the “Criminalization of Colonialism in Africa.”

According to a statement released by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both ministers expressed their satisfaction with the dynamic activity witnessed in bilateral relations. This progress is seen as a direct result of implementing the outcomes of Rwandan President Paul Kagame’s visit to Algeria in June, an invitation extended by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

During their meeting, the ministers engaged in consultations and coordination regarding key issues on the agenda of the international conference on the criminalization of colonialism. They also discussed matters to be addressed during the second session of the Oran Process on Peace and Security in Africa, commencing tomorrow.

The Oran Process is an Algerian initiative aimed at fostering dialogue and cooperation among African nations to address peace and security challenges on the continent. Minister Attaf reiterated Algeria’s commitment to supporting African solutions to African problems.

The discussions underscore the strengthening ties between Algeria and Rwanda and their shared commitment to addressing historical injustices and promoting peace and security across the African continent. Further details regarding the conference and the Oran Process are expected to be released in the coming days.
