DZWatch Exclusive: Seven international organizations have jointly called for the swift execution of arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against key Israeli leaders. The warrants pertain to alleged war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement released on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed annually on November 29th, the organizations reaffirmed their support for measures announced by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning the ongoing legal action against Israel.
The organizations specifically demanded the “expeditious enforcement of the ICC arrest warrants against Israeli leaders for their alleged responsibility in committing the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare, in addition to crimes against humanity, including willful killing, persecution, and other inhumane acts.”
“A lasting peace cannot be achieved without fully addressing these issues and bringing those responsible to justice,” the statement emphasized.
The signatory organizations include Alkarama for Human Rights (Geneva), Association for Victims of Torture (Geneva), Shehab Center for Human Rights (London), Free Voice Organization for Human Rights (Paris), IFDI International (Belgium), Adala Foundation for Human Rights (Istanbul), and Al-Karama Solidarity for Human Rights (Geneva).
Background: In November 2024, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza.
The organizations highlighted that this year’s International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People arrives amidst a fragile ceasefire that has not yet ended the humanitarian catastrophe facing over two million people in the Gaza Strip.
They asserted that Gaza residents continue to be deprived of basic necessities such as food, water, healthcare, electricity, and shelter, while hundreds of thousands live in the open or among rubble after entire neighborhoods were leveled by intense Israeli bombardment.
The ceasefire agreement in Gaza, brokered between Hamas and Israel, came into effect on October 10th, 2025.
