The FIFA Arab Cup 2025 commences today, Monday, in Qatar, featuring 16 national teams. The tournament is generating significant public interest and anticipation for this edition.
Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor City will host the official opening ceremony at 17:30 Doha time (15:30 Algerian time). Following the ceremony, the opening match will see host nation Qatar face Palestine in the first round of Group A. Group A also includes Tunisia and Syria.
The organizing committee revealed that ticket sales have surpassed 700,000 prior to the opening match. They project the total number of tickets sold could exceed 1.6 million by the end of the group stage, highlighting the immense popularity of the tournament.
The opening ceremony will feature an artistic and cultural performance with various artists and celebrities participating. Souvenirs will also be distributed to attendees.
Algeria, the reigning champions, are placed in Group D alongside Iraq, Bahrain, and Sudan. The Desert Foxes will be looking to defend their title in what promises to be a highly competitive tournament.
