The National Office for Hajj and Umrah has issued a statement clarifying administrative procedures and reserve list regulations for the upcoming 1447 AH/2026 Hajj season. The statement is addressed to those who were successful in the Hajj lottery.
Passport Requirement Emphasized
The office stressed the necessity for all successful applicants who do not currently possess a biometric passport to obtain one. This requirement is in accordance with the regulations outlined by the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation regarding Hajj lottery registration. Applicants are urged to adhere to this directive.
The statement specifies that successful applicants must obtain their biometric passports within 30 days of the lottery date. Failure to comply with this deadline may result in the applicant’s removal from the list of approved pilgrims. This measure ensures that all participants meet the necessary travel documentation standards well in advance of the pilgrimage.
Reserve List Policy Update
Regarding the reserve list, the National Office for Hajj and Umrah clarified that the Ministry of Interior has updated the relevant procedures. Placement on the reserve list is now valid for the current Hajj season only. This means that any applicant on the reserve list who is not called upon, or who is unable to perform Hajj during the current season, must re-register for the lottery in the following season.
Previously, reserve list applicants may have received some priority in subsequent lotteries. This priority will no longer be in effect. All applicants must re-register to be considered for future Hajj seasons.
This clarification aims to ensure the smooth and transparent organization of the Hajj process, respecting established timelines and procedures. The goal is to facilitate efficient preparations for the 2026 Hajj season.
