President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria received the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, and his accompanying delegation, today, Monday, at the Presidential Palace.
According to a statement released by the Algerian Presidency, the meeting was attended by Boualem Boualem, Director of the President’s Office; Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad; Amar Abba, Advisor to the President in charge of Diplomatic Affairs; and Mohamed Khaled, Algerian Ambassador to Addis Ababa and Permanent Representative of Algeria to the African Union.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Algeria and the African Union on various fronts. President Tebboune reiterated Algeria’s commitment to supporting the African Union’s initiatives aimed at promoting peace, security, and development across the continent. Key areas of discussion included regional stability, economic integration, and the fight against terrorism.
Chairperson Faki Mahamat expressed his gratitude to President Tebboune for Algeria’s continued support to the African Union. He also praised Algeria’s leadership role in addressing critical challenges facing the continent. The meeting underscored the strong relationship between Algeria and the African Union and their shared commitment to advancing the interests of the African continent.
