Algiers, December 2, 2025 – The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the launch of the entrance examination for doctoral studies within the framework of doctoral schools for the 2025/2026 academic year.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the competitive examination will be organized across five universities: the University of Setif 1, the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB), the University of Tlemcen, the University of Annaba, and the University of Sidi Bel Abbes. This initiative is being undertaken in coordination with 13 higher education institutions and 12 research centers, fostering intellectual exchange in the fields of scientific research and innovation, further enhanced by collaborative agreements.
The Ministry also clarified that a total of 706 pedagogical seats are allocated across 18 branches within the various doctoral schools.
The entrance examination is scheduled to take place between January 20 and January 31, 2026, and will be conducted entirely digitally via the integrated information system. This approach aims to streamline the process and ensure transparency.
