Doctoral Entrance Exam Scheduled for January 2026

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the schedule for the doctoral entrance examinations for the 2025/2026 academic year. The examinations will be conducted within the framework of doctoral schools organized across five national universities, in collaboration with several higher education institutions and research centers.

According to a statement released by the Ministry, the competition will be held at the University of Setif 1, the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene, the University of Tlemcen, the University of Annaba, and the University of Sidi Bel Abbes. This initiative is designed to foster knowledge exchange in scientific research and innovation, and to strengthen academic partnerships and cooperation agreements, in coordination with 13 higher education schools and research centers.

The Ministry further revealed that 706 pedagogical seats have been allocated across 18 disciplines within the accredited doctoral schools. This will provide greater opportunities for students wishing to pursue their scientific and research careers.

The entrance examinations are scheduled to take place from January 20th to January 31st, 2026. A fully digital approach will be adopted, with all stages of the competition managed exclusively through the integrated information system. This represents a further step towards the digitization of university services and improved transparency and efficiency in the process.

The period for submitting applications and confirming choices will be open from December 13th to December 22nd, 2025, via the dedicated online platform.
