Construction Begins on AADL 3 Housing Project in Medea

Medea, Algeria – December 2, 2025 – Construction has officially commenced on a new housing project under the AADL 3 (Agence Amélioration et Développement du Logement) scheme in the Medea province. This marks a significant step in the nationwide effort to provide affordable housing for Algerian citizens.

The Director-General of the National Agency for Housing Improvement and Development (AADL), in conjunction with the Governor of Medea, Djilali Doumi, presided over the symbolic laying of the foundation stone for the project, which will consist of 1400 AADL 3 housing units.

According to a statement released by the agency, this Medea project represents the fourth phase in the national rollout of the AADL 3 program. Since President Abdelmadjid Tebboune inaugurated the first AADL 3 project in Constantine, a total of 13,050 housing units have been allocated under this initiative.

These units are distributed across several provinces, including:

  • 8050 units in the Sissaoui urban pole, Constantine
  • 1600 units in the El Bakarat urban pole, Ouargla
  • 2000 units in the Ouled Khaled urban pole, Saida
  • 1400 units in Medea

The AADL 3 program aims to address the ongoing demand for affordable housing options across Algeria. This initiative allows eligible citizens to purchase homes through a rent-to-own scheme, making homeownership more accessible. The government hopes that the continuation of these projects will contribute significantly to improving the living standards of its citizens and fostering economic growth in the regions where these projects are located.
