Algeria and Czech Republic Explore Film Training Collaboration

Algiers, Algeria – Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, recently met with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Algeria, Jan Černý, at the ministry headquarters to discuss avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the meeting served as an opportunity to explore various areas of potential partnership, notably in the field of film training. Discussions centered around strengthening collaboration in the restoration of historical landmarks through the exchange of expertise and experiences. The possibility of implementing joint programs and projects in conservation and restoration to safeguard and enhance cultural heritage was also addressed.

The two parties explored ways to expand participation in cultural festivals and events organized in both countries, including encouraging mutual attendance of artistic groups and cultural delegations. This initiative aims to foster cultural dialogue and deepen artistic cooperation between the Algerian and Czech people.

A key focus of the discussion was exploring opportunities for collaboration in film training, particularly at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Kelaa. The Minister expressed her satisfaction with the positive spirit of the bilateral relations, highlighting the selection of the Czech Republic as the guest of honor for the 2026 edition of the Algiers International Symphonic Music Festival. She emphasized that this presence would provide an opportunity to learn more about Czech musical creativity and strengthen artistic cooperation.
