Ramallah, Occupied West Bank – A surge in Palestinian operations against Israeli forces in the West Bank is a direct consequence of Israel’s excessive use of force, according to military analyst Colonel Hatem Karim al-Fallahi.
Al-Fallahi’s comments follow recent incidents in which three Israeli soldiers were wounded in separate stabbing and vehicular attacks near Ramallah and Hebron. The Palestinian perpetrators were subsequently killed by Israeli fire.
“Israel cannot effectively control these Palestinian actions,” al-Fallahi stated. “These are often individual operations, requiring minimal resources, and typically occur unexpectedly. This element of surprise makes them difficult for the occupation forces to predict, undermining their security apparatus.”
Analyzing the military landscape in the West Bank, Colonel al-Fallahi explained that Israeli military operations are part of a systematic policy involving settlement expansion, land confiscation, arrests, and infrastructure destruction.
He noted that the current Israeli military campaign in the West Bank, while ongoing for some time, has recently focused on four key areas: Nablus, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Hebron.
“The Israeli occupation believes this is an opportune moment to seize more land in the West Bank, control strategic areas, and construct settlements as part of a broader strategy to completely annex Palestinian territory,” al-Fallahi added.
To achieve these objectives, Israel is intensifying military and security pressure on Palestinian communities, employing surveillance, intelligence gathering, and infrastructure demolition to force Palestinians to emigrate. Recent reports indicate that the Israeli army continues its aggression in the West Bank with killings, destruction, and raids. Today, Israeli forces demolished two homes belonging to the families of Palestinian prisoners in Nablus and forced families to evacuate their homes.
