The Minister of Water Resources, Taha Derbal, commenced a working visit to the province of Ouargla by receiving a comprehensive presentation on the status of the water sector and public water services in the region. The presentation covered various aspects related to the supply of potable water, sanitation, and agricultural irrigation.
During the meeting, the Minister issued a series of instructions emphasizing the importance of efficient management and the adoption of digitalization to improve performance and increase productivity. He stressed the need to reuse treated wastewater in various fields, particularly in the creation of forest areas and urban uses.
The Minister also highlighted the vital role of wastewater treatment operations in preserving public health, the environment, and protecting the surroundings. He called for accelerating the completion of ongoing projects and increasing the pace of achievement to ensure the development and improvement of services for citizens. Derbal underscored the importance of human resources by supporting and training the workforce at water facilities to ensure the quality and efficiency of services.
As part of his tour in the municipality of Ouargla, the Minister supervised the launch of a project to establish a cooling station. He also inspected the desalination plant at the hydraulic complex in the Al-Nasr neighborhood, a step aimed at improving the supply of water to citizens and ensuring the quality of public service.
