Algiers – Algeria Post and the National Office of Endowments and Zakat (Diwan al-Awqaf wal Zakat) have signed a framework agreement aimed at bolstering digital services and enhancing institutional integration. The accord, finalized today, marks a significant step towards the nation’s broader digitalization strategy and the modernization of public services.
The core of the partnership focuses on streamlining and updating electronic payment services for Zakat, the obligatory alms-giving in Islam. Citizens will now be able to fulfill their Zakat obligations more conveniently and securely through the “Baridi Mob” application and other digital platforms managed by the Diwan.
The agreement also encompasses improvements to the delivery and distribution of postal items related to the Diwan’s operations, leveraging Algeria Post’s extensive network to ensure greater efficiency in processing transactions associated with various Zakat services. This will lead to quicker turnaround times and more reliable service for citizens interacting with the Zakat system.
By working together, Algeria Post and the Diwan seek to simplify procedures, enhance public service delivery, and improve the overall quality of services offered to citizens. This collaboration aligns with a national vision centered on modernizing the electronic payment ecosystem and expanding digital services across all sectors.
This initiative underscores both organizations’ commitment to ongoing modernization efforts and fostering greater trust in digital services. The move is expected to contribute significantly to Algeria’s digital transformation and strengthen the connection between citizens and public institutions.
