DZWatch Exclusive: A special weather advisory has been issued, warning of significant weather disturbances expected to impact several northern provinces of Algeria. The advisory, released earlier today, indicates a period of heavy rainfall and potential hailstorms extending into Friday.
The affected regions include Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Blida, and the northern parts of Medea. These areas are forecast to receive rainfall amounts ranging from 20 to 40 millimeters, commencing from 6:00 PM today, Thursday, and lasting until 9:00 AM on Friday.
Furthermore, a more intense weather system is predicted to affect Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, and the northern regions of Setif and Mila. These provinces can expect rainfall between 30 and 50 millimeters, with localized areas potentially exceeding 60 millimeters.
The period of greatest impact for these eastern regions is anticipated to run from 9:00 PM on Thursday through 9:00 PM on Friday.
Authorities are urging residents, particularly those in low-lying areas and near waterways, to exercise extreme caution.
