Polio Vaccination Campaign Extended Nationwide Until December 8th

Algiers – The Ministry of Health announced today the extension of the nationwide polio vaccination campaign until December 8th, 2025. This decision applies to all provinces across the country.

The extension follows a significant turnout and high demand from parents since the campaign’s initial launch. This positive response highlights a growing awareness regarding the importance of protecting children from this debilitating disease.

“We are encouraged by the public’s enthusiastic participation,” stated a Ministry of Health spokesperson. “This extension will allow us to reach even more children and further strengthen our efforts to eradicate polio.”

The Ministry of Health reiterates that vaccination remains the most effective method for preventing polio and safeguarding public health. Health officials are urging parents and guardians who have not yet vaccinated their children to take advantage of this extended opportunity.

Polio, a highly infectious viral disease, can cause irreversible paralysis and is particularly dangerous for young children. The nationwide vaccination campaign is a crucial component of Algeria’s commitment to maintaining a polio-free status.

The Ministry has assured the public that sufficient vaccine doses are available at all designated health centers and vaccination points throughout the country. They are also working closely with local authorities to ensure the smooth and efficient implementation of the extended campaign.
