Bir El Ater, Algeria – Customs officials in Bir El Ater have seized a significant quantity of Pregabalin 300mg capsules, totaling 18,259 pills. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect public health.
According to a statement released by the customs authority, the seizure was the result of a coordinated effort involving multiple units. The operation was overseen by the Customs Multipurpose Brigade of Oum Ali and the Mobile Customs Brigade of Bir El Ater, operating under the jurisdiction of the Customs Inspectorate Divisions of Bir El Ater. Crucially, the operation also involved collaboration with members of the National Gendarmerie from Negrine, the Regional Brigade of the National Gendarmerie from Safsaf El Ouesra, and El Ogla El Malha.
During the operation, authorities also confiscated two vehicles that were allegedly used to transport the illicit substances. The vehicles were seized as evidence and are currently under investigation.
The customs authority emphasized that this operation is part of its broader mandate to protect the Algerian population from the dangers of smuggling and illicit goods. The seizure underscores the commitment of Algerian customs to combat all forms of trafficking and safeguard public health.
