Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a message to participants at the fourth edition of the African Startup Conference, taking place in Algiers from December 6th to 8th, 2025. The address was presented on his behalf by Prime Minister Seifi Ghrib at the opening ceremony on Saturday.
In his message, President Tebboune emphasized Algeria’s commitment to fostering a vibrant ecosystem for startups across the African continent. He highlighted the crucial role of innovation and entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and creating opportunities for young Africans. The President underscored the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing among African nations to overcome challenges and unlock the full potential of the continent’s startup sector.
President Tebboune reiterated Algeria’s dedication to supporting startups through various initiatives, including access to funding, mentorship programs, and streamlined regulatory frameworks. He emphasized the need to create an enabling environment that encourages risk-taking and rewards innovation. The President also called for increased investment in education and training to equip young Africans with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the digital economy.
“Algeria believes in the immense potential of African startups to transform our economies and improve the lives of our citizens,” the President stated in his address. He further added that the African Startup Conference serves as a vital platform for connecting entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers, facilitating partnerships and driving innovation across the continent.
The President concluded his message by expressing his confidence that the conference would generate valuable insights and contribute to the development of a thriving startup ecosystem in Africa. He reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to working with its African partners to achieve shared goals of economic prosperity and sustainable development.
