State Secretary Chaib Focuses on Diaspora’s Role in National Economy

Algiers, DZWatch – The State Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, participated this Saturday in a videoconference organized by the Algerian Consulate in Nice, France. The meeting centered on the theme of “The Involvement of the Diaspora in Efforts to Promote the Advancement of the National Economy.”

The event brought together a select group of entrepreneurs, project holders, and economic operators from the national community residing within the consular district. This gathering is part of a series of activities designed to inform Algerian citizens abroad about the various initiatives available to them.

The Director-General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, Mr. Omar Rekkache, provided detailed explanations of these initiatives during the meeting. His presentation aimed to clarify the processes and benefits available to those seeking to invest in Algeria.

During his address, State Secretary Chaib reiterated the “great importance that the highest authorities of the country attach to encouraging the involvement of the national community abroad in the economic workshops open in their motherland, ensuring their empowerment in their developmental role, and enhancing their added value.” He emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating diaspora contributions.

He further explained that “his services, in cooperation and coordination with various state sectors, are working to accompany this growing movement, including by optimally addressing the concerns of our citizens abroad and enhancing their contributions in various developmental aspects of their country, thanks to a set of incentive measures offered to holders of ideas and projects in various economic sectors.”

The government aims to create a supportive environment for Algerians abroad to actively participate in and contribute to the economic growth and development of Algeria. DZWatch will continue to follow this developing story.
