Algiers – Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, participated today, Saturday, in a virtual conference organized by the Algerian Consulate in Nice, France. The meeting focused on the theme of “The Involvement of the Diaspora in Efforts to Promote the Revival of the National Economy.”
The conference, held via video conferencing technology, brought together a select group of entrepreneurs, project holders, and economic operators from the national community residing within the consular district.
Mr. Chaib emphasized the crucial role the Algerian diaspora plays in contributing to the nation’s economic growth. He highlighted the government’s commitment to facilitating investments and creating opportunities for Algerian expatriates to actively participate in the country’s development.
“The skills, expertise, and resources of our diaspora are invaluable assets that can significantly contribute to the diversification and modernization of our economy,” Mr. Chaib stated during his address.
The discussions centered on identifying concrete strategies to encourage greater diaspora involvement, including streamlining investment procedures, providing access to financing, and promoting partnerships between Algerian businesses at home and abroad.
Participants also explored avenues for transferring knowledge and technology from the diaspora to Algeria, fostering innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
The meeting underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to engage with the Algerian diaspora and harness their potential to drive economic progress and create a more prosperous future for the nation.
