Adrar, Algeria – A tragic road accident in Adrar province has resulted in one fatality and one injury, according to local authorities. The incident involved a vehicle that overturned and subsequently caught fire.
Civil Defense units from Reggane were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:50 AM local time today. The accident occurred on the Route de l’Unité (Unity Road), connecting Reggane with Bordj Badji Mokhtar province, roughly 60 kilometers south of Reggane.
Reports indicate that the vehicle involved was a Toyota passenger car. Upon arrival, emergency responders found one individual with second-degree burns to the lower extremities and face. The injured person, approximately 29 years old, was transported to the emergency services at Reggane Hospital by private vehicle prior to the arrival of the Civil Defense.
Unfortunately, a second individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Following standard security procedures carried out by the Gendarmerie Nationale, the deceased was also transported to Reggane Hospital.
