Humanitarian Aid Reaches Gaza

On Saturday morning, approximately twenty trucks carrying humanitarian assistance crossed the border from Egypt into the Gaza Strip at the Rafah border crossing. The Rafah crossing had been temporarily reopened for this operation, providing a lifeline to the beleaguered population.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres emphasized the urgency of the situation, describing it as a matter of “life or death” for the people of Gaza. French President Emmanuel Macron announced via social media that France would contribute to the international humanitarian effort.
For several days, around 175 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid had been waiting at the Rafah crossing, eager to enter Gaza. Additionally, many dual nationals, including entire families residing in the Gaza Strip, were hopeful that they would be allowed to leave Gaza as a result of this border opening, marking the first such opportunity since the conflict began on October 7.

Despite the ongoing Israeli airstrikes and tensions, a “peace summit” is being organized in Egypt to explore diplomatic solutions and a potential ceasefire in the region. The international community remains committed to finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
