Algeria Inaugurates Embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia

Bratislava, Slovakia – Algeria officially inaugurated its embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia, on Tuesday. The opening ceremony took place during an official visit by the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf.

The inauguration was attended by several high-ranking officials, including the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, and the State Secretary of the Slovak Foreign Ministry, Marek Eštok. The ambassadors of both countries, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the Algerian community residing in Slovakia were also present.

In his address, Minister Attaf emphasized the importance of diplomatic representation between Algeria and Slovakia in strengthening the growing momentum of friendship, cooperation, and partnership between the two nations. He expressed his hope to elevate these relations to even greater heights.

The Minister of State also conveyed his satisfaction with both countries’ commitment to upholding the values of peace and justice on the international stage. He underscored their shared dedication to preserving the principles of international law, the multilateral system, the sovereignty and independence of states, and the rejection of foreign interference in internal affairs, as well as the right of nations to self-determination.

Attaf affirmed that “through the opening of its embassy in Slovakia, Algeria is committed to consolidating bilateral cooperation, continuing political consultations, and exploring new avenues for collaboration in promising and priority economic sectors, particularly in agriculture, industry, and new technologies. Furthermore, the embassy aims to strengthen the human and cultural ties between the Algerian and Slovak peoples.” The establishment of this embassy marks a significant step in fostering stronger diplomatic and economic relations between Algeria and Slovakia.
