Minister Saadawi Emphasizes Discipline, Infrastructure Readiness in Education Sector

Minister of National Education, Mohamed Sghir Sadawi, presided over a national conference via video conference Tuesday evening, addressing key officials from the central administration, directors of education, and assigned directors. The conference focused on evaluating the first semester of the academic year, assessing progress in implementing infrastructure development programs across the provinces, and determining the readiness of educational institutions from both pedagogical and administrative perspectives.

At the outset, Minister Saadawi commended the efforts of the directors of education during the first semester. He expressed gratitude to the entire educational community for their involvement in all activities associated with the semester. He emphasized the need for continued monitoring of the remaining examination period and class councils, stressing the importance of ensuring strict discipline within all educational institutions, both public and private.

The Minister underscored the importance of strengthening communication at the local level to enhance administrative performance and improve the management of educational institutions. He emphasized that establishing a professional environment based on mutual respect and active listening is a fundamental pillar for supporting institutional stability and improving quality. In this context, he stressed the need to enhance administrative supervision and effective communication with the directors of educational institutions, providing them with the necessary support to perform their duties effectively.

Regarding the implementation of the supplementary program for the rehabilitation of educational institutions (middle and secondary schools) for 2024, Minister Saadawi reviewed the completion rates in each province. He stressed the need to accelerate the pace of progress in provinces where work has not yet been completed. He also ordered continued close monitoring of the completion stages at the provincial level to ensure the closure of this file before the end of the year.

Concerning the management of student files, the Minister reiterated his previous instructions on the need for full digitization of student records, ensuring that all administrative operations are recorded digitally in a timely manner. He emphasized the need for strict monitoring of these procedures, particularly those related to students preparing for national school examinations this season, stressing the importance of following up on exceptional cases and taking appropriate measures to ensure the accuracy of files and prevent any irregularities. The Minister also highlighted the readiness of a mechanism to monitor the implementation of inspection report recommendations, which will ensure effective follow-up.
