Algiers – The Ministry of National Education has announced that the final deadline for registering for the Brevet d’Enseignement Moyen (BEM) and Baccalaureate national exams is December 17th.
Minister of Education emphasized the importance of adhering to this deadline during a national conference held via video conferencing. The conference was attended by key figures from the central administration, including education directors and delegated managers.
The Minister stressed the need for educational institutions to intensify their efforts in informing students and parents about the registration process and ensuring its timely completion. He urged directors to raise awareness and facilitate the registration process for all eligible candidates before the rapidly approaching deadline.
In related news, the Minister highlighted the importance of protecting students from the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances. As part of a preventative plan developed in coordination with the Ministry of Health, the Minister emphasized the adoption of a preventative discourse to safeguard children.
He reminded the educational community of the availability of the national hotline, 11-11, dedicated to the protection and promotion of childhood. He encouraged schools to raise awareness among students about this resource, enabling them to report and address issues related to drug use and promoting preventative awareness.
Finally, the Minister instructed schools to conduct class councils before December 18th to assess student progress and finalize grades. He also designated December 18th as an open day for parents to receive their children’s report cards, ensuring transparency and fostering communication between schools and families. These measures aim to ensure a smooth conclusion to the current academic term and prepare students for the upcoming national examinations.
