Minister of Communication, Zohir Bouamama, is participating in the International Arab Media Dialogue Forum in Tripoli, Libya, on December 11th and 12th. The Ministry of Communication announced the Minister’s participation in a statement released Wednesday.
The invitation to Minister Bouamama was extended by his Libyan counterpart, Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Ammar Al-Lafi. The forum is being held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Mohammed al-Dabaiba, and in coordination with the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Information Ministers of the League of Arab States.
The forum will address a range of vital media issues, including strengthening the centrality of the Palestinian cause and emphasizing the Arab identity of Jerusalem. Discussions will also focus on ways to develop the Arab media industry and improve the skills of media professionals through vocational training.
Sessions will include a special focus on developing digital content and utilizing artificial intelligence technologies in media work. This reflects a growing awareness of the need for Arab media to adapt to the rapidly changing technological landscape.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Minister is also expected to attend the official opening ceremony of the Libyan National Museum, considered one of the most important civilizational and cultural symbols in Libya, according to the same source.
Algeria’s participation underscores its commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration within the Arab media landscape. The forum provides a crucial platform for addressing shared challenges and opportunities in the region’s media sector.
