Algiers – Algeria’s meteorological services issued a special weather alert this morning, warning of heavy thunderstorms expected to impact several southern provinces throughout the day. The alert indicates that rainfall could locally exceed 30 millimeters in the coming hours.
The affected provinces, according to the weather advisory, initially include Bechar and Beni Abbes. Significant rainfall is anticipated to begin around 9:00 AM and continue until 11:00 PM today, Thursday.
The warning also extends to the provinces of Timimoun and Adrar. These regions are forecast to experience considerable thunderstorm activity starting from 3:00 PM today, persisting until 9:00 AM tomorrow, Friday, according to the same meteorological sources.
Authorities are urging citizens, particularly those residing in areas prone to flooding or water accumulation, to exercise extreme caution.
