Bougherra Calls UAE Clash a ‘New Final’ for Algeria

Algiers – Madjid Bougherra, coach of Algeria’s national ‘A’ team, has described the upcoming quarter-final match against the United Arab Emirates in the Arab Cup as a crucial and decisive encounter, effectively labeling it a ‘new final’ for his squad.

Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Bougherra emphasized the importance of the match. “I reiterate what I’ve been saying since the beginning of the tournament: we treat every game as a final, and we are applying this principle to every single match,” he stated.

The coach highlighted the team’s intense focus on both physical and psychological preparation. He stressed the critical role of recovery in a competition where matches are played at a rapid pace, with teams facing each other every three days. According to Bougherra, this demanding schedule necessitates peak fitness and optimal management of player fatigue.

“The team is ready to give it all” Bougherra added. “We respect the UAE team but we will fight till the end to give joy to our supporters.”

Algeria’s ‘A’ team is set to enter the quarter-final stage tomorrow, Friday, facing the UAE national team. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 PM Algerian time, and is eagerly anticipated by Algerian fans who are hoping to see their team advance to the semi-finals. The Algerian team is confident and determined to win the match.
