Algiers, December 11, 2025 – The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Mr. Brahim Boughali, received Mr. Esteban Silva Cuadra, a member of the Executive Bureau of the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution, in Algiers today. Mr. Silva Cuadra also serves as the President of Associations in Solidarity with the Sahrawi People in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The meeting, held at the APN headquarters, underscores Algeria’s continued commitment to fostering relationships with international organizations and individuals who have historically supported the nation’s struggle for independence and self-determination. Discussions focused on strengthening ties and exploring avenues for further collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
“This meeting reflects Algeria’s enduring gratitude to those who stood by us during our revolution,” stated the Speaker’s office in a released statement. “It also provides an opportunity to discuss contemporary challenges and explore how we can collectively work towards a more just and equitable world.”
Mr. Silva Cuadra’s visit highlights the ongoing importance of international solidarity in addressing global issues. The meeting served as a platform to exchange perspectives on regional and international developments, with a particular focus on the situation in Western Sahara and the ongoing struggle for self-determination.
The People’s National Assembly reiterated Algeria’s unwavering support for the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. The discussions emphasized the need for a peaceful and just resolution to the conflict, ensuring the Sahrawi people can exercise their inalienable rights.
