Algiers – The Ministry of Justice has announced a nationwide competition to recruit 500 student judges for the academic year 2025. The initiative, detailed in an official statement released today, outlines the application process and eligibility requirements for aspiring magistrates.
The selection process will be conducted in two phases. The initial stage involves online registration through the official websites of the Higher School of Magistracy and the Ministry of Justice. Applicants are required to create a dedicated email address, select a password, complete and download the initial registration form, upload a signed declaration of honor, and access a guide to assist in preparing for the entrance examinations.
The second phase requires candidates to physically submit their application files to the judicial council within their district of residence. This submission must include proof of payment of the registration fee, set at 5000 Algerian Dinars.
The Ministry has stipulated that the initial registration period will run from January 18th to January 29th, 2026. Entrance examinations are scheduled to take place in April.
The Ministry of Justice emphasized that any incomplete applications, those not meeting the legal and regulatory requirements, or submitted outside the specified deadlines, will be automatically rejected. Candidates who successfully meet all requirements will receive a submission receipt and an official summons to participate in the competition.
Those who pass the written examinations will then complete their application files at the Higher School of Magistracy. This includes submitting three medical certificates, a written commitment to complete the three-year training program without interruption, and an agreement to serve in the judicial sector for a minimum of 15 years.
The final results will be announced on the websites of both the Higher School of Magistracy and the Ministry of Justice. Successful candidates will then undergo a three-year training program. Upon successful completion of the training and graduation from the Higher School of Magistracy, they will be appointed as trainee judges, with postings determined based on merit and ranking.
