Tunis, Tunisia – Prime Minister Seifi Gherbi was received today at Carthage Palace by Tunisian President Kais Saied. During the meeting, Prime Minister Gherbi conveyed fraternal greetings from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, reaffirming Algeria’s commitment to strengthening fraternal ties and deepening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
President Saied expressed his deep appreciation for President Tebboune, commending the continuous communication between them aimed at bolstering cooperation and solidifying the fraternal bonds between the two nations, bound by a shared history of struggle and a common destiny.
The Tunisian President emphasized that Algeria and Tunisia, as countries sharing numerous elements of integration across all levels, will continue to work together to enhance bilateral cooperation, develop partnership and mutual investments, in order to achieve the highest levels of integration, realize shared prosperity, and confront global challenges. He also lauded the alignment of views between the two countries on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
President Saied praised the level of bilateral relations, calling for continued joint efforts to intensify economic exchanges and elevate them to the level of both countries’ potential. He expressed his wishes for the success of the 23rd session of the Algerian-Tunisian Joint Grand Commission, scheduled to be held tomorrow, stressing the need to follow up and implement its outcomes to ensure the achievement of the desired results for the two brotherly peoples.
Prime Minister Gherbi highlighted the depth of the historical ties between the two countries and peoples, affirming the commitment of their leaderships to elevate bilateral cooperation to the level of an integrated strategic partnership. He noted the keenness of both governments to realize these ambitious goals and exploit all partnership opportunities in all fields.
The Prime Minister added that the convening of this session of the Joint Grand Commission comes within the framework of implementing the high directives of the two countries’ presidents, pointing out that the Algerian-Tunisian Economic Forum, held today in Tunis, is in line with the same trend aimed at building a strong economic partnership according to an integrative, solidarity-based approach.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf, and the Algerian Ambassador to Tunisia Azzouz Baalal.
