Algiers, December 12, 2025 – Algeria and Tunisia have solidified their bilateral relations with the signing of 25 agreements and memoranda of understanding, spanning a diverse range of sectors. The signing ceremony, held in Tunis, was overseen by Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Gherib and Tunisian Head of Government Sara Zaafrani Zenzeri.
These agreements are the culmination of the 23rd session of the Joint Algerian-Tunisian Grand Commission, which convened earlier today at the Government Palace in the Kasbah, Tunis. The agreements aim to bolster cooperation and foster mutual growth across various crucial domains.
The signed agreements and memoranda of understanding cover key sectors including energy and renewable energy, finance, industry, the pharmaceutical industry, fisheries, water resources, transportation, investment, solidarity, communication, employment, culture, health, vocational training, and youth and sports. This comprehensive approach reflects a commitment to strengthening ties across all facets of the Algerian-Tunisian relationship.
Key agreements include cooperation in combating money laundering, terrorism financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction within the insurance sector, as well as collaboration in accreditation standards. Agreements were also established to enhance cooperation in water management between Algerian and Tunisian water authorities, and to foster collaboration between fisheries and aquaculture organizations.
Further agreements focus on strengthening ties between national broadcasting corporations, promoting joint operation of international passenger transport routes, and enhancing cooperation in the field of employment. The agreements also include twinning programs between labor inspectorates and vocational training institutions in both countries, as well as collaboration in the protection of copyright and related rights.
These agreements underscore the commitment of both Algeria and Tunisia to deepening their strategic partnership and fostering sustainable development through enhanced cooperation and collaboration.
