Tunis, December 12, 2025 – Tunisian Prime Minister Sarah Zaafarani today commended Algeria’s deep structural and institutional reforms, spearheaded by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Speaking at the 23rd session of the Grand Joint Algerian-Tunisian Cooperation Committee in Tunis, co-chaired with Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Gherib, Zaafarani highlighted the significant development projects underway in Algeria. She stated that these projects are strengthening the foundation of a ‘New Algeria’ under President Tebboune’s leadership.
The Tunisian Prime Minister emphasized that every developmental achievement in both Algeria and Tunisia serves as a ‘fundamental building block’ towards the ultimate goal of fostering economic and social integration, and a solidarity-based partnership between the two nations.
Zaafarani described the current session of the Grand Joint Committee as a crucial opportunity to monitor progress in various areas of cooperation, evaluate existing strategies, and explore new avenues for enhancement and efficiency. She expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum and tangible results achieved in bilateral cooperation in recent years, reflecting a shared commitment to genuine integration across all sectors.
‘The tangible achievements in this regard reflect the sincere and shared will of both countries to move towards real integration on all levels,’ Zaafarani noted.
Furthermore, the Tunisian Prime Minister acknowledged the alignment of views between Algeria and Tunisia on numerous regional and international issues. She considered the ongoing coordination and consultation between the leadership of both nations on various related matters as a ‘fundamental pillar’ in strengthening bilateral relations. She also emphasized the need for close consultation on developments in the Euro-Mediterranean region and the solutions required to safeguard the interests of both nations.
