Severe Weather Alert: Rain, Snow, and High Winds Forecast for Saturday

DZWatch Exclusive: Several regions of Algeria are bracing for a significant shift in weather conditions tomorrow, Saturday, with forecasts predicting widespread rainfall, plummeting temperatures, and strong winds. The National Meteorological Office has issued a detailed weather advisory, urging citizens to take necessary precautions.

Northern regions are expected to experience the brunt of the inclement weather. Western provinces will see persistent rainfall throughout the day. Central and eastern areas will face overcast skies with potential scattered showers. As night falls, the highlands can anticipate snowfall, particularly on mountain peaks.

The provinces most likely to be affected include Naama, Bechar, Beni Abbes, Tindouf, and El Bayadh. Coastal temperatures are predicted to range between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius. Inland areas will experience a wider temperature range, fluctuating between 11 and 21 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds in these regions could reach up to 50 kilometers per hour.

Southern regions will see a mix of sunny and rainy conditions. Higher elevations, notably Djebel Antar, are also expected to receive snowfall overnight. Temperatures in the south will range from 13 to 23 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds reaching up to 40 kilometers per hour.
