Algiers, Algeria – Several Algerian provinces are experiencing significant weather disturbances today, characterized by heavy thunderstorms and localized hail, according to the national meteorological services.
A special weather bulletin indicates that the province of Tindouf will continue to experience substantial thunderstorms until 9:00 PM local time. Rainfall amounts are expected to reach up to 30 mm in some areas, prompting authorities to urge caution.
A second special bulletin warns of heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail, extending until 9:00 AM tomorrow, Sunday. Rainfall is anticipated to exceed 50 mm in certain localities, particularly in the provinces of Naama, Bechar, and Beni Abbes.
Furthermore, significant thunderstorms are expected to persist until midday today in the provinces of El Oued, Khenchela, Batna, Biskra, El M’Ghair, M’Sila, and Ouled Djellal.
The meteorological services are advising citizens to exercise caution, especially road users and residents in low-lying areas, to avoid potential risks associated with flooding or traffic disruptions.
