Algiers – Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, presided over the official installation ceremony of Brigadier General Abbas Ibrahim as the Central Director of Army Security today, Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The ceremony was held on behalf of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense.
During the installation, Lieutenant General Chengriha stated: “In the name of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, and in accordance with the presidential decree dated December 8, 2025, I officially install Brigadier General Abbas Ibrahim as Central Director of Army Security, succeeding Brigadier General Mahrez Griba.”
He further instructed all personnel to operate under the authority of the new director, to obey his orders, and to implement his instructions in the best interest of the service, adhering to military regulations, the laws of the Republic, and in loyalty to the sacrifices of our valiant martyrs and in commemoration of the values of our glorious revolution.
This occasion served as an opportunity for Lieutenant General Chengriha to impart a series of instructions and directives to the officers of this sensitive directorate. He emphasized the importance of continuing to exert diligent efforts in service to the nation and to fully commit to fulfilling the assigned tasks with the utmost rigor and necessary perseverance.
Following the installation, Lieutenant General Chengriha oversaw the signing of the official handover report.
