Algiers – National team coach Vladimir Petkovic today announced the official Algerian squad set to participate in the 2025 African Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
The squad announcement was made during a press conference held by the national coach. The list includes a blend of experienced players and promising young talents, reflecting the technical staff’s ambition to build a balanced team capable of strong competition and a deep run in the continental tournament.
The squad selection featured some notable technical choices, both in terms of players receiving their first call-ups and the return of players who had been absent from previous training camps. This highlights Petkovic’s vision, which prioritizes technical readiness and tactical discipline over established names.
“Les Verts” are expected to enter a closed preparatory training camp at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa before departing for the host country. There are high hopes among Algerian fans for a return to African football glory and a strong challenge for the title.
It is worth noting that the Algerian national team is in a challenging group, requiring the team and its captain to perform at a high level from the first round. This is a tournament that rewards readiness and practicality on the field more than reputation.
